1959: Texas Instruments patented the integrated circuit.

 1690: First paper money in America was issued to the colony of Massachusetts.
1879: First usable incandescent filament electric light bulb was demonstrated by inventor Joseph Swan.

 1892: The bottle cap with cork seal was patented by William Painter.
1935: Det. Leonard Keeler conducted the first use of his Keeler polygraph (lie detector machine).

 1913: "Demountable tire-carrying rim" patented by Louis Henry. First tire rim designed to be removed and remounted.
1947: Roy Plunkett issued a patent for TEFLON.
